the TUILERIES garden

In 2008, the Louvre Museum, which manages the Tuileries garden, called on Edmond & Fils to renew the integrality of the furniture.

Made from sheet metal and tube, our 100% steel chair is visually identical to the one from the roaring twenties’ Paris, even though technically, it has been reshaped to improve its resistance to time.

Nowadays, the chair of the Tuileries is an icon of Paris, known worldwide.

André Citroën Park

In this futuristic area edified on the former Citroën factory site, in the heart of Paris, a lush vegetation coexists with aquatic stage sets and themed gardens.
In order to decorate this array with relaxation areas, Paris City Council contacted Edmond & Fils to produce the furniture imagined by the renowned architect Patrick Berger.
Stainless steel structured chairs, benches and sun loungers, fitted with large wooden slates provide the site with relaxation and playground areas.

PROMENADE DES ANGLAIS, in Nice

As much as the Negresco and the Ruhl, the blue chairs of the Promenade are an integral part of the landscape of Nice. They were created after the war by Charles Tordo, an ingenious inventor and craftsman, on the request of Mr Ballanger, leaseholder of the chairs of the Promenade.
After having requested of designer Jean-Michel Wilmotte to review their design, the city of Nice entrusted us with the manufacture of these new series.
Massive pipework, accentuated curvature of the armrests, azur color, everything in their nautical design harmonizes with the atmosphere of the Riviera. Down to the specific care for the paints to provide the best resistance to the corrosion of the sea air.

‘Le luxembourg’ garden

After the fabrication of the Tuileries furniture for the Louvre Museum, from 2008, it’s the French Senate who requested our expertise in 2013 to renew the Luxembourg garden’s furniture. Once a few changes had been made by our design department to the parts of the Tuileries collection, especially on the curvature of the slats on the back, Edmond & Sons took charge of the chairs and armchairs of the “Luco” as the Parisians love to call it.

As an invitation for the visitors to enjoy the site, low relaxing armchairs and stools, customised to the colours of Vaux-le-Vicomte, have been set at the Water Grids from where you have an amazing view of the Castle and the Garden ‘à la française’ by André Le Nôtre.
Edmond&fils cushions are provided for the summer candlelit evenings for a even greater comfort…

Jardin du luxembourg

Après la fabrication du mobilier des Tuileries à partir de 2008, c’est le Sénat qui fit appel à nos services en 2013 pour renouveler celui du jardin du Luxembourg. Une fois quelques modifications apportées aux pièces de la collection Tuileries par notre bureau d’étude, notamment la courbure des lattes du dossier, Edmond & Fils a pris en charge les chaises et fauteuils du « Luco » comme aiment à l’appeler affectueusement les Parisiens.

Parc André Citroën

Dans cet espace futuriste conçu sur le site de l’ancienne usine Citroën, au cœur de Paris, coexistent une végétation luxuriante, des scénographies aquatiques et des jardins à thèmes.
Afin de rythmer cet ensemble par des espaces de détente, la Mairie de Paris a sollicité Edmond & Fils pour réaliser le mobilier imaginé par Jean-Louis Reny, de l’Atelier de Midi.
Des chaises, bancs et bains de soleil à structure inox, recouverts de larges lattes de bois ponctuent ainsi le site d’îlots de repos et d’aires de divertissement.

PROMENADE DES ANGLAIS

A l’instar du Negresco et du Ruhl, les chaises bleues de la promenade font partie intégrante du paysage niçois. Elles furent créées après-guerre par Charles Tordo, inventeur et artisan ingénieux, à la demande de monsieur Ballanger, détenteur de la concession des chaises de la Promenade.
Après avoir sollicité Jean-Michel Wilmotte pour en retravailler le design, la municipalité nous a confié le soin de fabriquer les nouvelles séries.
Tubulure massive, courbure marquée des accoudoirs, teinte azur, tout dans leur design nautique s’harmonise avec l’esprit de la Riviera. Jusqu’au soin particulier apporté aux peintures pour offrir la meilleure résistance à la corrosion de l’air marin.

JARDIN DES TUILERIES

En 2008, le musée du Louvre qui assure la gestion des Tuileries fera appel à Edmond & Fils pour renouveler l’ensemble du mobilier du jardin.
De tôle et de tube, notre chaise 100% acier est visuellement identique à celle du Paris des Années Folles. Techniquement, Edmond & Fils l’a remaniée afin d’améliorer sa résistance à l’usure du temps. La chaise Tuileries est aujourd’hui une icône de Paris connue dans le monde entier.
